The Alliance of American Football is suspending operations. The league, which includes the San Antonio Commanders, was to hold a call with players this afternoon.
AAF majority owner Tom Dundon had indicated he was considering such a move without help from the National Football League Players Association.
Dundon, who also owns the NHL Carolina Hurricanes, had just invested in the AAF last month after the league was on the verge of not making payroll.
San Antonio attendance was the best in the league.
The league was 8 games into the 10 game series when operations were suspended today.
