The U.S. is grounding the Boeing 737 Max 8 and 9 airliner fleet. Speaking at the White House today, President Trump said an emergency order is going into effect immediately and will last indefinitely. He cited two recent international crashes involving the Boeing fleet, calling it a terrible thing. Trump also called Boeing an incredible company. The U.S. order follows similar action by several other countries. Trump said the safety of the American flying public is of paramount importance.
