Economic Growth Better Than Expected

Economic growth in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2018 is better than expected. According to the Commerce Department, the GDP rose 2.6%.  Analysts were expecting to see a gain of 2.2% for the last three months of 2018 after seeing a 3.4% increase in the third quarter. Employment remains strong, as wages continue to rise, but slower retail sales have impacted growth. Analysts are also keeping an eye on trade news between the United States and China.
