FOX is responding to Empire actor Jussie Smollett getting arrested. A statement from 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment says they understand the seriousness of the matter and respect the legal process. The statement goes on to say the company behind the massive hit show is evaluating the situation and considering options. Yesterday the company called Smollett a consummate professional on set and that he was not being written out of the show.
Police in Chicago this morning said Smollett was arrested for filing a false police report in which the Chicago Police Superintendent called shameful. Smollett is accused of hiring two extras from the show Empire to stage an attack in hopes of getting a bigger paycheck.
