One Year Anniversary Of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting

On the one year anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, families of victims and the survivors are gathering to remember. Alleged gunman and former student Nikolas Cruz is behind bars for entering the school with an AR-15 style assault rifle and shooting at both teachers and students. Police say he managed to make his way through several floors of the building, killing 14 students, three staff members, and injuring others. Cruz eventually dropped the gun and fled the scene by blending in with other students running to safety. He was arrested without incident over an hour after the shooting started. The Parkland shooting surpassed the 1999 Columbine High School shooting as the deadliest at a school in U.S. history.
