White House Keeps Pressure On Maduro With Sanctions

The White House is keeping pressure on Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro by targeting the country's powerful, state-owned oil company with tough sanctions.  The U.S. no longer recognizes Maduro as president of the South American nation.  In a White House briefing today, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin blamed Maduro for a humanitarian crisis in his country.  The U.S. has recognized Juan Guaido as Venezuela's interim president.

National Security Adviser John Bolton again warned Maduro not to harm remaining U.S. diplomats in Venezuela.  As for possible U.S. military action in Venezuela,  Bolton echoed President Trump and said "all options are on the table."
