A 71 year old man was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition after he was shot in the back inside his own home early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police called to the house in the 300 block of Cactus St, which is just east of the Alamodome, found the victim bleeding from the gunshot wound in a front room.
Police say several shots were fired through the front wall of the house.
Witnesses saw the two men, but thought they were 'shooting off firecrackers.'. They ran off and remain at large.
Police say the man who was shot was not the intended target.. Two other people live in the hone, and police aren't sure whether one of them might have been the target, or if the people who were shooting shotnat the wrong house.
