Parkland School Shooting Final Report

The final report on the Parkland school shooting is putting the responsibility for stopping future attacks on local districts and officials.  The commission approved its final report today, which addresses numerous errors including missed tips, lax security procedures and unaggressive school security policies. Among the recommendations in the document is for teachers to be allowed to carry guns after going through a selection and training process, which includes a background check.  Seventeen people died and more than a dozen others were hurt after a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last year.
