Illegally discharged New Years Eve fireworks are suspected in an overnight house fire on the city's near northwest side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The fire broke out about 11PM Monday night at a home in the 200 block of Yale St., which is near Woodlawn and I-10..
When firefighters arrived the flames were on the roof, which led them to suspect arson.
A woman and her dog living in the home got out safely.
