A 56 people were treated and nine had to be hospitalized following a huge traffic accident on SH 130 in Austin early Tuesday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Austin officials blamed the fog, which enveloped the region just as people were leaving New Years Eve events.
The wreck happened at SH 130 and Harold Green, near Bergstrom Airport.
Two of the patients had to be treated for serious injuries.. A 57th person declined treatment.
Several San Antonio Fire Department units also scrambled early today to a multiple vehicle accident at Loop 410 and I-37 on the southeast side.. The morning fogvwasalso blamed for that incident.
