A woman in her thirties was found sprawled on a bed in an apartment near the Medical Center this morning, bleeding from a bullet wound to the head, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police have few clues in the case.
Officers were called to a report of gunfire at the Sundance Apartments in the 4600 block of Gardendale, which is just east of Fredericksburg Rd shortly before 4AM.
Officers broke into the apartment and found the woman unresponsive but breathing.. She was rushed to nearby University Hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses did see a man running through the complex about the tie the gunshot was heard, and detectives are trying to determine if he is involved. Police think the suspect was the person who made the call reporting the shooting.
