One person is dead in a one vehicle wreck just north of downtown, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the accident happened shortly before 8AM at the exit to both northbound 281 and Broadway off of eastbound I-35, not far from the Pearl complex. Police say the SUV the woman was driving skidded off the 281 entrance ramp and hit a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was hurt. The accident caused a major traffic back-up in the heavily traveled area.
