Terrorism in France

France's interior minister is confirming that three people are dead and 12 others hurt in a shooting near a Christmas market in Strasbourg.  Several of those people suffered serious injuries.  The suspected shooter is still on the run, but authorities do know who he is.

French Ambassador to the U.S. Gerard  Araud says the 29-year-old suspect is apparently "an  Islamist terrorist."  The suspect was reportedly wounded in an exchange  of gunfire with a solider.

The city on the border with Germany is  effectively on lockdown as police look for the shooter.

Strasbourg has  one of the most popular Christmas markets in the country, with millions of people visiting each year.
