The interchange of US 281 and Stone Oak Parkway is about to become even more of a mess than it already is, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
TxDOT's Hernan Rozemberg says the left of the two lanes from northbound 281 onto Stone Oak will be closed as of Tuesday morning.
He says the closing it part of the reconstruction of the interchange, which is part of the major expansion of US 281 from Loop 1604 north.
Eastbound on Stone Oak Parkway to US 281, Rozemberg says the lanes will be narrowed, but there will still be two right turn lanes onto 281 south.
The plan is to construct a median strip. He says the project will be completed by Christmas, and early next year, traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed access roads so work can proceed on the main lanes.
