A man who was walking down the middle of Huebner Rd. in the middle of the night was killed when he was hit by a tow truck, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police were called shortly before midnight to a darkened stretch of Huebner near Fredericksburg Rd. north of the Medical Center. When they arrived, the man was already dead in the middle of the street.
The tow truck driver told officers he didn't see him until it was too late. He won't face charges.
Police are trying to determine why the man was walking in the traveled portion of the busy street. They speculate he may have been homeless.
