An elderly man is under arrest after he started taking pot shots at cats from a second floor balcony of his northeast side apartment building, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say Donald Martin, 77. fired several shots at a group of cats that were playing below his balcony at the Spanish Oaks Apartments at Loop 410 and Perrin Beitel Rd.
The cats were all being cared for by residents of the apartment building.
One of the cats, a one year old gray tabby female, was hit in the next by gunfire and died at a veterinarian's office.
Martin is facing charged of Animal Cruelty, felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail facility.
