Man Shot Dead While Harassing Restaurant Patrons

A man was shot to death overnight while he was allegedly harassing a couple in a southwest side restaurant, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say a man walked into the Mexican restaurant at Loop 410 and Old Pearsall Road, which is near Miller's Pond, walked up to a couple who were eating dinner in a booth, and 'confronted' the man.

The man then pulled a handgun and shot the harasser in the chest.The couple got up and drove away, but were later found on the city's east side.

The man who was shot was rushed to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are interviewing the couple and several witnesses inside the restaurant, to try to determine what the connection was between the gunman and the victim, and whether charges should be fired.
