Season's First Freeze Warning Issued

...Widespread Freeze likely across ALL of South Central Texas Wednesday Morning with Lows in the 20s...Area of Concern:

Monday Night and Tuesday Morning: Along and  West of I-35 and North of Highway 90 (Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and  I-35 Corridor)

Tuesday Night and Wednesday Morning: ALL of South Central Texas (including the Rio Grande and Coastal Plains)

Threats & Impacts:Temperatures: As  this is the first freeze of the season it is important to remember the 4  P's of cold weather. Cover Plants, bring Pets inside, drip Pipes, and  check on elderly People to make sure they have means to stay warm. 

Winds Monday Night into Tuesday: 15-25 mph sustained winds with gusts to 35 mph will  add a wind chill to the already cold temperatures. Wind chills across  the Hill Country Monday night and Tuesday morning will drop into the  teens and low 20s. 

Timing and Overview:

A cold front that will move through South  Central Texas this morning will bring the area the first freeze of the  season over the next few nights. Highs today should occur before noon,  with temperatures dropping through the afternoon. Temperatures will fall  below freezing overnight tonight across the Edwards Plateau, Hill  Country, and I-35 corridor prompting the Freeze Warning. 

Winds  behind today's front will be strong and out of the north. Sustained  winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph will make it seem even  colder. Wind chills across the Hill Country on Tuesday morning could  drop into the teens and low 20s.  

Another, more widespread, freeze is expected  Wednesday morning across all of South Central Texas as lows drop into  the low to mid 20s across the Hill Country and I-35 corridor, and the  upper 20s across the Rio Grande and Coastal Plains. A third morning of  freezing temperatures is expected Thursday morning before a warming  trend begins Friday.
