Freeze Warning Issued

The first freeze of the fall season arrives Monday evening over the Hill Country, with freezing temperatures expected along and north of Highway 90 and along and west of I-35  by Tuesday morning. With winds out of the north between 15 and 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph at times wind chill values could drop into the teens and 20's across the Hill Country.

Lows Wednesday morning will drop into the 20's across all of South Central Texas under mostly clear skies and light winds. Parts of the Hill Country could see morning lows drop into the low to mid 20's while the rest of South Central Texas can expect mid to upper upper 20's. This means that the Austin and San Antonio metro areas will see lows 3 to 5 degrees below freezing.

With the cold temperatures Wednesday and Thursday morning several record lows could either be tied or broken in many locations. With the freezing temperatures, especially Wednesday morning remember to check on and take steps to protect the four P's: People, Pipes, Plants, and Pets.
