Two people burned to death early today in a single vehicle wreck on the city's northwest side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the vehicle was speeding up Valero Way just west of the I-10 interchange shortly before 3AM.. The driver apparently was trying to get onto 1604 eastbound, but skidded off the main lanes, went across the grassy median, rolled over several times and burst into flames before coming to rest in te westbound lanes.
By the time officials arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.. The two occupants were burned beyond recognition, police on the scene couldn't even say if they were men or women.
The accident forced the closing of 1604 in the area for several hours.
