A clerk at,a Dollar General store on the city's southwest side is hospitalized following a bungled attempt to rob the store overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say four men entered the Dollar General on Southwest Military Dr, and one held a gun on the clerk while the others attempted to steal merchandise.
But police say the clerk fought back, and during the scuffle the clerk was shot several times.. He is hospitalized in serious condition.
The robbers ran away empty handed and remain at large.
