Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson is catching heat for joking about a Texas congressional candidate who lost his eye in combat. Davidson made an off-color remark about Republican Dan Crenshaw, who wears an eye-patch because of his injury. Many people sounded off on Davidson on social media, saying the joke was offensive to veterans and to Crenshaw, who served as a Navy SEAL. Crenshaw responded by saying he hopes SNL recognizes that "vets don't deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes."
