Mattis: U.S., Allies Won't Back Down In South China Sea

Defense Secretary James Mattis says the U.S. and allies won't back down in the South China sea.  Mattis told an Asian security conference the U.S., Japan and South Korea will "continue to fly, sail, and operate wherever international law allows."  Japan and South Korea have become increasingly concerned about China's efforts to expand its influence in the region.  Mattis made it clear the U.S. remains opposed to China's militarization of islands in the South China Sea.
