A midnight altercaation at Blanco and West Aves, near Churchill High School, led to a shooting, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say a man in his forties was walking down the street when he was approached by another man. After words were exchanged, that man shot the victim one time.
The victim managed to make it to a Subway right down the street where he called for help.
The gunman ran away and remains at large.
