Former Spur Barry Rejoins Team as V.P. of Basketball Operations

Brent Barry, who was one of the most popular Spurs players in the championship seasons of 2005 and 2007, is returning to the team as Vice President of Basketball Operations, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Barry was a Spurs player from 2004-2008.  After retiring form the league, he moved to NBA-TV and then to TNT where he provided color analysis, and he hosted the All-Star Saturday this past season.

Barry also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Seattle SuperSonics and Houston Rockets, where he finished his playing career in 2009. 

Barry ranks 34th all-time in three-pointers made (1,395) and 23rd all-time in three-point percentage (.405). He holds career averages of 9.2 points, 3.2 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 912 NBA contests.

 Barry graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in sociology.

Barry is one of several hires and promotions announced by the Spurs today in preparation for the start of the new season.
