Justin Verlander made a triumphant return to Detroit as the Astros trimmed the Tigers 3-2. Verlander struck out 10 over seven innings of two-run ball against his former team to pick up his 15th win. Robert Osuna recorded his 16th save. Tyler White and Marwin Gonzalez singled in runs in a three-run third for Houston, which has won eight-of-nine. Francisco Liriano allowed three runs, but all unearned, in six frames to take the loss. Dawel Lugo and Nicholas Castellanos drove in runs for Detroit, which lost its second straight.
