The Panthers' defense led the way as Carolina edged the Cowboys 16-8 in Charlotte. The Panthers had six sacks, including a game-sealing strip sack by Mario Addison with just over a minute remaining. Cam Newton piled up 161 yards passing and rushed for 58 more and a touchdown in the winning effort. Alex Armah also had a rushing score for Carolina in the season-opening win. Dak Prescott finished with just 170 passing yards and Ezekiel Elliott was limited to 69 yards rushing and a touchdown for Dallas. The Cowboys had just 232 yards of total offense in defeat.
The 0-1 Cowboys are back in action on Sunday Night, September 16 against the Giants.
