Hurricane Lane Approaches Hawaii As Strong Category 4 Storm

Hurricane Lane is now a strong Category 4 storm as it continues to barrel toward Hawaii.  The National Hurricane Center says the storm weakened slightly overnight and is packing sustained winds of 155 miles per hour.  The Big Island of Hawaii and the islands of Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Oahu  are under a hurricane warning while Oahu and Kauai are under a hurricane watch.  Forecasters say Lane is on a track to the north-northwest that will move very close or over the main Hawaiian Islands from Thursday through Saturday.  Hawaii Governor David Ig says he's prepared to activate the National Guard if needed to help deal with heavy rainfall, flash flooding and possible landslides.
