A Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy who was jailed on charges of Sexual Assault of a Child killed himself in his cell Monday night, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Deputy Jose Nunez, had been assigned as a detention officer in the Bexar County Jail. He was being held in a jail in Karnes County due to his previous duty, and had been in the Karnes County facility since June.
The cause of his death has not been released.
The Texas Rangers will investigate, as is standard protocol in cases like this.
