Chicago mayor faces criticism following violent weekend

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson is describing the weekend as being "unacceptably violent".

Johnson was joined by Chicago's Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel at a hastily called press conference to discuss the violence that saw 60 people shot and at least ten deaths.  Johnson said the shootings were not random, but instead fueled by gang conflicts.  Emanuel, who is facing increasing criticism for the escalation in violence, also said the shootings were "unacceptable."
