TSA Considers Eliminating Passenger Screenings At Smaller Airports

Transportation Security Administration officials are considering no more passenger screenings at more than 150 small and medium-sized U.S. airports.  CNN obtained documents saying the move to cut screenings at airports where planes have 60 or fewer seats would save 115-million-dollars annually.  That money then could be used to improve security at larger airports.  The documents say that any passengers arriving from a smaller airport would have to go through the regular TSA screening when it makes a connection at a larger airport.  The group studying the proposal said it would impact about ten-thousand passengers a day.  That represents a half percent of the total number of people flying in the United States on any given day.
