The Labor Department was out with some new numbers this morning and they show that fewer American workers filed unemployment claims.

The stats reveal that 214,000 people filed first-time claims for jobless benefits last week, which is 18,000 fewer than the previous week's revised total.

The biggest increase in claims was in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Kentucky, New York, and Connecticut with the sharpest drops in California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Oregon.
