Jordan Zimmermann outdeuled Bartolo Colon as the Tigers edged the Rangers 3-1 in Detroit. Zimmermann struck out 11 over eight innings of one-run ball to earn the win and Joe Jimenez locked down the save. James McCann and JaCoby Jones homered in the winning effort. The Tigers snapped a three-game slide. Colon tossed eight innings of five-hit, three-run ball in the loss for the Rangers. Shin-Soo Choo led off the game with a homer to provide the offense for Texas, which has lost four-of-five.
