Babcock Road near Huebner in the Medical Center appears to be the prime location for people to attempt to run across a darkened stretch of road away from a crosswalk, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
A 61 year old man is hospitalized with multiple injuries after he tried to run across Babcock about 10PM Sunday night and was hit by a passing SUV.
The driver jumped out and called 9-1-1. The man is in serious condition. The driver will not face charges.
As is often the case in these incidents, police say there was a well lighted, marked crosswalk less than 100 yards away.
Last week, a woman with two small children attempts to run across Babcock Road. She didn't make it, either.
