The Trump administration is defending its policy of separating children from their immigrant parents at the border. Today at the White House, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen says the administration is enforcing laws passed by Congress. Many people have called the separation policy inhumane and barbaric. Nielsen argued that the children are getting very good care. She said illegal immigration is on the rise and must be stopped. Nielsen blamed loopholes in federal laws and said it's up to Congress to act.
