55 suspected undocumented immigrants were found in a semi-truck trailer on San Antonio's northeast side tonight.
The trailer was located in the 8400 block of Greenbrier near Loop 410.
San Antonio Fire Department Chief Charles Hood said five people were taken to a hospital for injuries they sustained while trying to run out of the truck, but no one appeared to be suffering from dehydration, despite the hot temperatures. Officials say the truck was air conditioned and the people had water.
Just last year, 10 people died in the back of a trailer in a similar smuggling incident.
