Two Homes Destroyed in NW Side Fire

A fire that was driven by gusty winds destroyed two northwest side homes this afternoon, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

When crews arrived on Johnny Reb Street, which  is just north of Marshall High School, they found one home with flames shooting out of the roof.

The occupant got out safely, but the winds blew the flames into the house next door, causing serious damage to it as well.

The second house was unoccupied.

No word on the cause of the fire.
