Will Power Wins Indianapolis 500

Australian Will Power is the winner of  the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 today.  In the final few laps  of the race, Power was running in the third position and was catapulted  into the leader spot after the two racers in front of him decided to  pit.  Power drives for Team Penske.  Danica Patrick crashed on the 68th  lap on the final race of her career.  Takuma Sato's bid to repeat as  champion failed as he crashed in Lap 47.  A crash also ended Helio  Castroneves' bid for a fourth Indianapolis 500 win, crashing on lap  146.  Temps were forecast to hit 92-degrees today, which would have tied  the 1937 record for the hottest Indy 500.  The race started with a  temperature of 89-degrees, fourth-highest start temperature in race  history.
