In a "Fox & Friends" interview on Thursday morning, President Trump praised the NFL for mandating that players stand during the National Anthem before games. He then followed it up with, "You shouldn't be playing, you shouldn't be there. Maybe they shouldn't be in the country."
Well that was it for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin. In a news conference on Thursday, Baldwin ripped into the President saying, "He's an idiot, plain and simple." Baldwin continued, calling it "ironic" that the President "is contradicting what our country is really built on."
Baldwin then took issue with the league saying, "I think that the NFL really missed it this time."
But he wasn't alone. Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall also attacked Trump calling his words "disgusting."
