Ride Stuck for a Half Hour at Six Flags Fiesta Texas

There was more excitement than expected today at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The San Antonio Fire Department reports the Boomerang ride ground to a halt on an incline, about thirty feet into the air.

One of the passengers on the ride used a cell phone to call 9-1-1.

The roller coaster was stuck for about thirty minutes, until the problem was resolved.

About forty people were on the ride, according to fire officials.

Six Flags released a statement on the incident:

The  safety of our guests is always our highest priority and as such,  all rides and attractions are designed with safety sensors that monitor  every aspect of the ride cycle. In this case, a sensor sent an alert and  the ride was stopped on the first lift hill.  All guests were safely  escorted off the ride and continued with their visit.  The ride will be closed for a thorough inspection before  re-opening.
