Justin Verlander tossed a complete-game shutout as the Astros blanked the Angels 2-0 in the rubber match of a three-game series in Anaheim. Verlander improved to 5-and-2, holding Los Angeles to five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. Evan Gattis supplied the offense with a two-run homer in the second inning. Both runs were unearned for Garrett Richards, who dropped to 4-and-2. Albert Pujols had two of Los Angeles' five hits. The 'Stros are now two games ahead of the Halos for first place in the AL West.
