Texas-Alabama set 2022-2023 home-and-home

Texas and Alabama have agreed to play a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2023, the schools announced on Wednesday.

The Crimson Tide will travel to Texas on Sept. 10 in 2022, while the Longhorns will trek to Tuscaloosa (Ala.) on Sept. 9, 2023.

Texas owns an all-time 7-1-1 record against Alabama, but the Crimson Tide defeated the Longhorns in the last meeting -- the 2010 BCS national championship game.

"We are pleased and happy to be able to add an opponent the caliber of the University of Texas to our non-conference schedule," Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a statement. "The Crimson Tide and Longhorns have played a lot of memorable games over the years and the addition of this home-and-home series will be great for not only our fans, but fans of college football."

In lieu of this agreement, Texas and Ohio State have shuffled their previously scheduled home-and-home set to 2025 and 2026. The Longhorns will host the first encounter before visiting Ohio State the following year.

Texas also announced that its 2023 game against Central Florida has been canceled to make room on its schedule for Alabama.
