New DHS Policy Could Separate Families Caught Crossing the Border Illegally

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is apparently ready to increase the prosecution of parents crossing the U.S. border illegally thus increasing the chances of families being separated.

Sessions has ordered federal prosecutors to pursue criminal charges against all referrals for illegally crossing the border, as possible.

"So, if you cross the border unlawfully, even a first offense, we're going to prosecute you," Sessions said.

The idea is to hopefully convince people to avoid risking coming into the country illegally for fear they will be separated from their children.

Do you think this is going to be a real deterrent for those looking to enter the country illegally?
