Gerrit Cole pitched an absolute dominant game as the Astros blanked the Diamondbacks 8-0 in Phoenix. Cole struck out 16 batters in a complete-game, one-hit shutout for Houston. Cole walked one and upped his record to 3-and-1. Carlos Correa plated three on two doubles, and Yuli Gurriel drove in three as well. Jose Altuve scored three runs and added an RBI-double as the Astros snapped a three-game slide. Chris Owings tallied the only hit for Arizona, and David Peralta was the other base-runner after getting walked. Kris Medlen gave up nine hits and seven runs to take the loss for the D'backs.
