HS Football Coach Says He Was Pushed Out For Having Too Many Black Players

A high school football coach in New Jersey alleges that school officials are forcing him out because his football team had too many black players.

Nick Strom, who teaches history and coaches the football and golf teams for Camden Catholic High School in New Jersey, says he was told on Friday his contract would not be renewed and was asked to resign from coaching.

According to Strom, "From day one the administration told me they did not approve of the ratio of black to white students."  He says when he had a list of potential freshmen, "the first question I'd be asked is if they were white or black."

The school president denies the claims and says she never mentioned race to Strom.  In a statement, the school said "Any concern about racism or racial insensitivity is taken seriously and investigated fully."  Strom says he won't resign and plans to file a grievance with the union.

Do you believe Strom's story?  Do you think the school's investigation will lead to anything?
