Two people were shot, one of them fatally, on the city's south side early today in what police say was a drug deal that turned into a deadly robbery, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
It started about 1:30 AM when police got a call for a shooting at I-35 and Poteet-Jourdanton Highway on the city's south side.
When they arrived, they found a man sprawled on the ground, in a parking lot bleeding from several gunshot wounds.
That's when officers got a second call for a shooting on Villaret Street, not far away.
When officers arrived at that location, they found a man shot to death in the driveway of the home.
Police think the 19 year old murder victim was trying to sell drugs to two men in an SUV, when a gunfight broke out, apparently as the two men in the SVU were trying to rob the drug seller.
The SUV believed to be involved was found not far from the scene of the first shooting.
The third man escaped and police are looking for him.
