A man is clinging to life after clinging to life after police say his girlfriend stabbed him while he was hitting her, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the incident happened about 1:40 this morning at the Lakeside Village Apartments on Kless Dr, which is off New Laredo Highway on the south side.
The 23 year old man was bleeding from a knife wound to the upper chest that pierced his lung. He was rushed to the hospital with life threatening wounds.
The woman told police he was beating her up and wouldn't stop, so she was able to grab a knife and stab him.
So far detectives say the woman's story holds up and it looks like self defense. But officials are still investigating.
