FAA Orders Emergency Inspections After Deadly Southwest Engine Explosion

The FAA is mandating emergency  inspections on jet engine fan blades after a deadly explosion on a Southwest Airlines flight earlier this week.  The FAA said the emergency  order was based on a service bulletin issued by the company that made  the engines for the Boeing 737.  Some engines have to be inspected  within 20 days.  One passenger was killed after being partially pulled  through a window shattered by the blast during the Southwest flight from  New York to Dallas.
