Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White says every site targeted in last night's air strikes in Syria was hit. In a morning briefing, White remarked that the strikes were orchestrated to minimize collateral damage. She also said the attacks were justified, legitimate, and proportionate in response to a chemical weapons attack on a town outside Damascus.
Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie said U.S., French, and British forces deployed dozens of missiles to hit three chemical weapons facilities. McKenzie said the size of the strikes overwhelmed Syria's air defenses. He called the strikes precise, overwhelming, and effective, and set Syria's chemical weapons program back for years.
