Entire Metro Now in the Target Area for Afternoon Storms

...Strong to severe storms possible this afternoon and evening...

Area of Concern:

Areas along and east of a Burnet to Kerrville to  Uvalde line. The severe weather potential appears to be greater for  areas along and east of I-35.


Threats & Impacts: 

Winds: Straight line wind damage with gusts up to 60 MPH

Hail: Large hail of quarter to golf ball size

Rainfall: Local amounts up to 1.5 inches

Timing and Overview:

An upper level disturbance along with a dryline  and cold front will move across South Central Texas this afternoon and  evening. These features will interact with a moist and unstable air mass  to generate isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms today,  especially this afternoon and evening. While areas along and east of a  Burnet to Kerrville to Uvalde line may see strong to severe  thunderstorms today, the greater potential for severe storms is expected  along and east of the I-35 corridor.
